Sutirta Budiman, CFA
For the past 26 years, Sutirta has worked in the financial, trading and manufacturing industries, gathering experiences in operational risk, credit risk, financial, human resource and strategic management.
For the last 8 years, Sutirta has been working as management consultant. Additionally, from August 2004 to August 2008, he worked for PT. Antam Tbk. initially as member of Risk Management Committee and then as member of its Audit Committee. From August 2005 to the present Sutirta has been working for PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Initially as member of Risk Management Committee and then as Risk Management Advisor to the Corporate Banking Division and Credit Risk Management Division. Beginning in October 2008, Sutirta has also been appointed as an Independent Commissioner at PT. BNI Securities.
Sutirta started his professional career as a trainee at Citibank’s Executive Development Program in the early 1980’s. While in Citibank, he began working as a programmer at the Electronic Banking Division and then as Operation Division Head, Training & Recruitment Director and Vice President/ Senior Risk Manager. In late 1980’s, Sutirta joined a team to establish a new private bank, Bank Sampoerna International. As the bank’s Risk Management Director, he oversaw credit risk, human resources, legal and financial management.
Late in 1993, Sutirta joined a publicly listed chemical trading and logistic company, PT. Aneka Kimia Raya Tbk., as its Group Financial Director. He was in charge for the finance and accounting, human resources, legal, and MIS departments. In 1990, Sutirta became the President Director of PT. Asiana Multikreasi Tbk., a publicly listed toy manufacturing and distribution as well as animation company. In early 1999, Sutirta started working as consultant specializing in corporate finance, technology management and risk management.
Sutirta graduated in 1981 from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London University, United Kingdom, with Bsc. (Hon.) in Electrical Engineering. He holds the Associateship of the City and Guilds of London Institute (ACGI). He is a licensed fund manager in Indonesia and a member of the CFA Institute.
